Sherry L. Stone of 876 Hasenflu Dr., Hermitage, PA. passed away after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 in her residence. She was 62.
Mrs. Stone was born in Sharon, PA on September 22, 1947, a daughter of Henry and Jeanetta Ward Porterfield.
She attended Sharon Schools.
Sherry retired in 2008 from O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Brookfield where she worked in housekeeping for 15 years. Previously she was employed at Hospitality Care in Hermitage for 9 years.
She was a member of Grace Chapel Community Church in Hermitage.
Sherry was an excellent cook. She enjoyed bingo, gambling, gardening, bowling, dancing and was a die hard Elvis fan.
She is survived by: her husband, Emil R. Stone, whom she married November 4, 1988; her mother Jeanetta Howard and her husband Thomas, Wheatland; four daughters, Renee L. Learn and her husband Adam, Hubbard, OH, Margaret 'Peggy' Foulkrod, Transfer, Patricia 'Patty' Stevens and her husband Brian, Kinsman, OH, Christine Penzerro, Farrell; 5 sons, James T. Lawler and his wife Lynn, S. Pymatuning Township, Chad L. Lawler and his wife Gina, Sharon, Brian Stone and his wife Margarita, San Antonio, Texas, Emil R. Stone Jr., Hermitage, and William Kephart and his companion Tiffany; two sisters, Darlene Luzar, Youngstown, OH and Dorothy J. Burnett, Sharon; five brothers, Henry C. Porterfield and his wife Pat, Sharon, Michael E. Porterfield, Nesbit, TN, Charles T. Porterfield and his wife Tammy, Sharon, and Robert L. and his fiancé Linda Reno of Sharon, and Rodney A. Porterfield, and Sharon and 19 grandchildren. Sherry was also survived by her dog, Max.
In addition to her father she is preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Boles and Crystal Porterfield.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home with Rev. Dominic A. Verdell pastor of the Grace Chapel Community Church.
