Shaharazar T. Decorday

Shaharazar T. “Sherry” (Hambrick) Decorday, 65, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Vitas Hospice.

Sherry was born January 29, 1961, in New Castle, PA, a daughter of Duane C. and Mary Margaret (Whetzel) Hambrick. As a teenager, she relocated to Atlanta, GA, where she later graduated from High School.

Following graduation, Sherry relocated to New York City, NY, where she had a successful modeling career for several years. She then enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served for four years.

Following her honorable discharge, Sherry worked as a receptionist for several companies, notably Bell Telephone for many years. Always filled with entrepreneurial spirit, she created and operated many of her own businesses throughout her life.

Sherry was continuously inspired by the world around her and had a gift for creating art in many forms.

She is survived by her father, Duane C. Hambrick (Barbara); and two brothers, Anthony Hambrick (Linda) and Carlos Scaggs, all of New Castle; two uncles, Larry Whetzel, Sr. and Gaird Hambrick; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Margaret Whetzel Hambrick; and a sister, Antionette Brown.

Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday (8-24-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Military honors will be rendered at noon by the New Castle Area Honor Guard, immediately followed by a Celebration of Sherry’s Life, with Apostle David Young, Sr., presiding.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Neshannock Twp.
