Obituary

Scott F. Andrzejewski, 3708 Lee Run Rd., Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes early Sunday morning (12-12-10) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. He was 54.

Mr. Andrzejewski was born February 24, 1956 in Levittown, PA a son of Frank W. and Eleanor Morrow Andrzejewski.

He was a 1974 graduate of Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, PA and subsequently attended Florida Bible College. He received a Bachelors of Science degree in 1979 from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana where he majored in Psychology and had a minor in Biology. He was a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society, the golf team and the soccer team while at Grace College. He earned his Masters degree in Education in 1981 and his School Psychologist Certification in 1983, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Scott began his career with the Badger School District, Kinsman, Ohio in 1985 and then worked briefly for the Hermitage School District. He has been the School Psychologist for Pre-K through 12th grade at Farrell Area School District for the past 27 years and also taught a psychology course, through Butler Community College, at Farrell High School for seniors wishing to obtain college credits. He also performed psychological evaluations through PCCS in Hermitage. Scott was a member of the National Education Association (NEA) and the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) as well as other professional educational organizations.

He was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. Scott was a wonderful husband and father and passionate about spending time with his sons. Together they shared many activities such as golfing and fishing for steel head at Elk Creek and Walnut Run near Lake Erie. He has been active in Hermitage Little League for many years and serves on its board of directors. He was currently the Manager for Parker Brothers in the Major division of Hermitage Little League and also coached indoor soccer at the Y Zone in Neshannock. Scott had many interests and talents. He was an accomplished golfer and a former member of the Thursday Night Men's League at Yankee Run Golf Course in Brookfield and Basilone's Golf League at Tam O'Shanter in Hermitage. An avid runner, he participated in many local 5K's and, years ago, enjoyed bowling with his wife in the Thursday Night mixed fun bowling league at Thornton Hall Lanes in Sharon and in the Tuesday Night Men's League at Sharpsville Lanes. tt was a longtime fan of the Grateful Dead and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and, although the Phillies were his favorite baseball team, he also rooted for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Surviving are: his loving wife, the former Judy Burdick, whom he married July 7, 1990 in St. Joseph Church, Sharon; three sons, Jared S. Andrzejewski, a student at the University of Pittsburgh; Jacob, an 8th grader; and Joshua, a 7th grader, both in Hermitage schools; his father and step-mother, Frank and Donna Andrzejewski, Spring Hill, FL; his mother-in-law, Barbara Burdick, Hermitage; and three step-brothers, Harry Myers and his wife Terri, Morrisville, PA; Kenneth Myers and his wife Christine, Westfield, North Carolina; and Rick Myers, Seminole, Florida.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Daniel E. Andrzejewski, who passed away in August of this year.

Calling hours will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday (12-14-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (12-15-10) in the Church of Notre Dame with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, pastor, as celebrant.
