Sarah "Sally" Elizabeth Robinson Moyer Pinson, of Sharon, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. She was 83.

Mrs. Pinson was born June 15, 1935, in Farrell, a daughter of James Ambrose Robinson, Sr. and Grace Merrel (Phillips) Robinson. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of West Middlesex High School. Sally had a diverse and distinguished career as a: licensed insurance agent for Metropolitan Life, Erie, PA; a secretary/bookkeeper for Laskey's Home Furnishings, downtown Sharon; and as an assistant director of administration for Erie One/Booker T. Washington Center, Erie. She retired in 2003, after 28 years of service from the ARC of Mercer County, where she served as an assistant workshop manager, safety director and transportation director and was the sub-contract director for 15 years.

Sally was an active member, Deacon and Church Mother of Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle, Inc., Farrell.

Active in the community, Sally was the Executive Officer for the Mercer County Area Agency on Aging and served on its board of directors. She also served on the board of directors for the Mercer County Workforce Investment Board (WIB); and was a member of Mercer County NAACP.

Throughout her life she was a member and active in many organizations, including: the Shenango Valley Urban League Guild, where she was its first secretary; the Mercer County Drug and Alcohol Commission board of directors; the Edmund L. Sally was a registered republican and served as a Judge of Elections in Mercer County.

A gifted vocalist, Sally was a lyric soprano. During her younger years, she and her siblings (eleven in all), who were known as the "Robinson Singers," would sing for the troops at Camp Shenango/Reynolds as well as many local churches and church conferences. In the 1960's she auditioned for Motown and was offered a record contract, however, she chose her family over fame. The Motown contract was then accepted by Diana Ross.
