Sara Volpe, 91, of Sharon passed away surrounded by family early Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, in her home.
Mrs. Volpe was born April 12, 1933, in Calabria, Italy a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rosa (Caruso) Anzani.
She emigrated to Canada as a young woman and was joined a short time later by her soon-to-be husband, Biagio Volpe. The two were married on March 18, 1961, in Canada, and ultimately emigrated to the U.S. in 1970 when Biagio found work at Sharon Steel. Biagio preceded her in death October 26, 2015.
A homemaker, Sara also worked at Philadelphia Candies in Hermitage for 12 years.
Sara was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
Sara was an exceptional cook who looked forward to Sunday dinners with family and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She showed her love by welcoming and feeding anyone who came into her home.
Sara is survived by three sons, Antonio Volpe (Vallorrie), Sharon, Giuseppe Volpe, Sharpsville, and August Volpe (Linda), Sharon; two sisters, Carmella Spadafora, Hermitage, and Assunta D'Angelo, of Italy; a brother, Domenico Anzani, of Italy; five grandchildren, Joe Volpe and Alessandra Ross (Chris), and Austyn Volpe (fiancé, Kayla), Giovanni Volpe, and Jordan Volpe.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sara was preceded in death by a brother, Alfredo Anzani; and a sister, Angelina Arcudi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday (6-10-24) in St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. James Power, as celebrant.
