Sara K. Carpenter

Sara K. Carpenter, 60, of New Castle, passed away early Monday morning, May 25, 2026, following a courageous battle with a rare form of blood cancer.

Sara was born May 14, 1966, in New Castle, a daughter of Clarence Zook and Sandra (Williams) Zook.

Primarily a homemaker, she also worked as a cashier and salesclerk for several local convenience stores.

A talented baker, Sara also looked forward to a night out to play BINGO and spending time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Her husband of 22 years, Scott W. Carpenter, whom she married June 14, 2003, preceded her in death on August 18, 2025.

Sara is survived by four sons, Lee Denman (Amber Keller), of New Castle, Jerry Brown, of New Castle, David Brown, of North Carolina, and Kirk Brown, of Ohio; a daughter, Samantha Denman, of New York; three brothers, Dave Zook and James “JD” Williams, both of New Castle, and Roy Zook (Carol), of North Carolina; and thirteen grandchildren whom she truly adored.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sara was preceded in death by an infant sister, April Marie Zook.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no viewing.

A celebration of Sara’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Life Changing Ministries, 2929 Mercer Road, New Castle, PA, with Pastor Bill Rupert, officiating.
