Sara B. Jones of St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 92.

Mrs. Jones was born February 25, 1925, in Sharon, a daughter of George J. and Isabel (Stambaugh) Bender. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1943 graduate of Sharon High School.

Sara retired in 1990 from Sharon Regional Hospital where she worked as an admitting clerk for many years. She was previously employed by Bell Telephone Co., Sharon, as an operator.

Sara was a member of First Baptist Church, Sharon.

Surviving are: two sons, David Leigh Jones, West Middlesex; and Robert Craig (Diana) Jones, Globe, A.Z.; a sister, Nancy Carol (Lawrence) Huck, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Donna Bender, Hermitage; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard G. Bender, Sr.

All services will be held privately.

Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
