Sandra E. Warneck Nene, Buena Vista Way, New Castle, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 5:45 p.m. Sunday (4-15-12) at her residence with her family at her side following an extended illness. She was 70.

Sandy, as she was known by her family and friends was born in New Castle on July 3, 1941 the daughter of Jack and Alice Johnson Warneck.

She was a member of New Castle High Schools graduating class of 1959.

She enjoyed photography and traveling, especially to Minneapolis to visit her son John.

Her husband John J. Nene whom she married on December 7, 1968, survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her son John Nene and his wife Kayse, Minneapolis MN; and one brother Jack Warneck and his wife Dorothy of New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her parent.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (4-18-12) from 4 to 7 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 111 W. Falls St.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. Thursday (4-19-12) with Rev. Richard C. Nero, Chaplain of Southern Care Hospice, officiating.

Interment will take place in the veterans section of Graceland Cemetery.
