Sandra B. Lucas, 80, a longtime resident of Hermitage, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening, February 12, 2026, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Sandy was born August 13, 1945, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Hannah (Parker) Martin. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1963 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage.

For many years, Sandy worked as a surgical and instrument technician at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Sandy was a member of the Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage.

An avid reader with a deep appreciation for the arts, her greatest passion in life was supporting her sons, Jim, Rick, and Chris, in their many endeavors. Sandy was also a proud and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Nelson, of Sharon, and Chris Lucas (Lindsey), of Hermitage; a brother, Charles R. Martin; four grandchildren, Jimmy, Matt, Emily, and Cecilia; and a great-granddaughter, Madison.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Bilak; a brother, John Martin; and her son, James Nelson.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday (2-16-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (2-17-26) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Rev. John Miller, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
