Samuel Razo Sr., 75, of New Castle went to be with his Lord the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends.
Samuel was born on Nov. 18, 1940, in Ellwood City, a son of the late Juan and Phyllis Sanders Razo.
He attended Ellwood City schools. He served in the Army from 1962 through 1964 at Ft. Meyers, Virginia.
His wife, Charlotte J. Johnson Razo, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1971, survives at home.
Sam retired from Ellwood Quality Steel in New Castle as a steel pourer after 10 years of service. He previously worked for 19 years at Babcock & Wilcox in Koppel as a first helper.
Sam was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Sam enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; a daughter, Monica Razo; and a son, Samuel Razo Jr., all of New Castle. Also surviving is a brother, John (Diane) Razo and two sisters, Romina Carper and Shirl Matthews, all of New Castle; one sister Juanita Cuspard of California; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and a special friend, Jesse Moss.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Bailey and Marcus Razo; a sister, Emma Jean Thompson; and a son, Carl Anthony Robinson.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St. A Going Home service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Norman H. Hunt, pastor of Second Baptist Church.
Military rites will be performed prior to the service by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
