Samuel John Heaslip, 79, of South Pymatuning Twp., passed away Monday afternoon, August 4, 2025, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle.

Mr. Heaslip was born on July 1, 1946, in Ireland, a son of the late Jack and Harriett Heaslip. At a young age, his family moved to England, where he studied and graduated in Brighton.

While in high school, "Sam" delivered milk door to door. Following his graduation, he worked briefly as a butcher before taking a job with Cunard Cruise Lines, where he worked many years as a bartender on the QE2 world cruise and the Countess in the Caribbean.

On October 31, 1981, he married the former Janice Young, who survives at home. In 1983, he left the cruise line and began working at the former Sharon Country Club. He was a longtime employee and worked in several capacities before his retirement. Following retirement, he enjoyed working at Lock Stock and Barrel until 2024.

Sam was a member of the Avalon at Buhl Country Club.

To relax, he looked forward to mowing his yard and, in the winter months, playing solitaire and working on jigsaw puzzles.

He is survived by his wife at home; his beloved dog, Millie; a sister, Heather (David) Stewart, of England; two brothers, William "Willy" Heaslip, of England, and John (Gisela) Heaslip, of Germany; a nephew, Jonathan Tee, of England; a sister-in-law, Patricia Riddle; a brother-in-law, John Young, both of Florida; and three nephews on his wife's side of the family, Gregg (Christa) Vivolo and their children, Anthony and Daniel, Scott (Cristina "Kiki" Garcia) Vivolo, and Corey (Erin) Young and their children, Windsor, Skylar and Stella.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to an animal charity of the donor's choice.
