Sally Jo Summers, 82, of Hermitage, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday evening, December 14, 2024, in her residence.

Mrs. Summers was born March 25, 1942, in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late David and Wava (Jones) Bennett, and graduated from Curwensville High School in Curwensville, PA.

A homemaker for many years, she attended Sharon General School of Nursing in her 40's.  In 1989, she earned her registered nurse certification and was employed by Horizon Medical Center, Farrell.

She was of Catholic Faith and was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon.

Sally Jo enjoyed traveling to Florida, where she loved being at the beach and boating.  At home, she liked working in her flower beds, was an avid reader, and a tremendous cook and a baker.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Sally Jo is survived by her devoted husband James B. Summers, whom she married on September 15, 1960; two daughters, Amy Summers, Hermitage, and Heidi Jo Ryan (Robert), Tierra Verde, FL; a son, Peter James Summers (Linda Dickey), Grove City; a sister, Liney Dudek, Colorado; three grandchildren, Michael Scott McCracken, Clearfield, PA, Kenneth Raymond Lees, St. College, PA, and Casey Nicole Randall (fiance' James Tangman); and great-grandson, Jaron Angelo Buffone.

In addition to her parents, Sally Jo was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ellen Singleton, Marie Bennett and Wava Mae Bennett; and brother, David James Bennett.
