Roxie Pelles of Lackawannock Township was called home to be with her Lord at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, in UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley, Farrell. She was 73.

Mrs. Pelles was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Warren, Pa., a daughter of Harry and Lucille Baker. She graduated from Hickory High School. Roxie had been employed by GATX, Sharon, where she worked as a switchboard operator. She also attended beautician school, managed a Lawson's store with her sister and completed lifeguard training.

Roxie enjoyed bingo, fishing, boating and cooking, particularly for her family. She very much loved spending time at Lake Wilhelm with her husband and son. Roxie will be remembered as a very loving and compassionate mother, wife, sister and friend.

Her husband, John D. Pelles, whom she married Dec. 20, 1976, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a son, Harry Pelles, Hermitage; a sister, Janice Gunsley, Sharpsville; several nieces and nephews; and extended family. Roxie was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Joan Podralski.

Per Roxie's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
