Obituary

Rose M. D'Onofrio, Lillian Dr., Sharon, passed away peacefully at 6:20 p.m. Friday (7-20-12) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System with her family at her side following an extended illness. She was 83.
She was born March 28, 1929 in Sharpsville the daughter of James and Dominica D'Oronzio Moderelli.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1947 and lived in Sharon and Clearwater Florida.
In her early years she worked for several local businesses including Murphy's Five and Dime, Westinghouse Electric Corporation and the former D'Onofrio Grocery Store, Farrell. She co-owned Concord Reality.
A homemaker, family came first in Rose's life and was happiest when her husband, children and grandchildren where together, watching her grandchildren at various sporting events and at her beach residence. She particularly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family during the holidays and celebrating her Italian traditions.
She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate enough to visit 27 countries on 6 continents. She played golf and tennis belonging to several leagues over the years in Hermitage and the Belleair Country Club, Clearwater, Fl. Rose played cards and in years past she belonged to both St. Joseph's, Notre Dame's women's Card Club and a member of the Clearwater Red Hat Society.
She belonged to St. Joseph's Church, Sharon and St. Brendan Church, Clearwater, Fl.
Her husband Edward D'Onofrio, the love of her life, whom she married June 15, 1953, survives at home.
She leaves her daughter, Lorraine Caruso and her husband Michael, Stone Harbor NJ, her three sons, Edward A. D'Onofrio and his wife Paula, and Larry J. Donofrio, all of Hermitage, and David D'Onofrio and his wife Betty, Tampa, Fl, nine grandchildren, Eddie, Danny, and Vince D'Onofrio, Joseph Caruso, Nicholas, and Jimmie D'Onofrio, and Danielle, Samantha, and Lauren D'Onofrio, a brother, James Moderelli and his wife Marcia, Winter Haven Fl, and a sister in law, Margaret Moderelli, Grove City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, John and Guy Moderelli.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (7-24-12) in St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor as the celebrant. A brief prayer service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning in the funeral home prior to leaving for the church.
Entombment: St. Rose Mausoleum, Hermitage.
