Obituary

Rose Wilson Boland, 75, of New Castle passed away at 10:46 p.m. Friday, January 17, in Golden Hill Nursing Home with her family at her side following an extended illness. Born Jan. 15, 1939, in Ellwood City, Rose was a daughter of the late Angelo and Evelyn Shuler Maggi. Rose worked as a nurse's aide most of her adult life for several local nursing homes including Belvedere Retirement Home and Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She retired in 2004. She belonged to Hoover Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, New Castle. In her early years, she enjoyed camping, visits to Mountaineer Race Track and a good game of cards with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was loved by many. She will be sadly missed by all. She leaves her children, Joyce E. Ruffley, Bobbie (Greg) Bartley, Rose Marie Clark, Debbie Wilson, Karen (George) Groves, Robert Michael (Ginger) Wilson Jr., Mark (Pam) Wilson and John (Michelle) Wilson, all of New Castle; two nieces she considered her own, Janice Maggi Watts of North Carolina and Deanna (Gary) Barnes of New Castle; her sister, Cookie Cialella of Poland, Ohio; her brothers, Harry (Mary Ann) Maggi of New Castle, James Maggi of Wampum, Daniel Maggi of Hollywood, Fla., and David (Mary Jo) Maggi of New Castle; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Michael Wilson Sr.; her second husband, Duane Boland; a son, Joseph Wilson; a brother, Emil Maggi; two sisters, Mary and Harriet Maggi; a grandson and his wife, Gary (Rebecca) Ruffley; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., with the Rev. Larry F. Llewellyn, pastor of Hoover Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations in her name be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
