Rosaria Donatelli, 761 Bobwhite Dr., Hermitage, formerly of Negley St., Farrell, passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, in her daughter's home with her children by her side. She was 90.
Mrs. Donatelli was born March 9, 1922 in Farrell a daughter of the late Nicola and Anna Caruso Galardo.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1940 alumna of Farrell High School.
Rosaria began her working career at the former G.C. Murphy Co. in Farrell. She then worked at several businesses in Sharon, including Bolotin's Furniture, the former Buhl Hospital and the former Johnson & Sizer's Lumber Co., until she had children.
While raising her family, she was an Avon sales representative for 27 years. She then worked as a teacher's aid in the Farrell School District for two years and retired from Sears and Roebuck Co. in the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, after 17 years of employment.
Rosaria was a lifelong active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell. She belonged to several church organizations throughout her life, including the Bethany Club, the Ladies Sodality Club and the Altar Rosary Society. She was one of the first ladies in the church to make cavatelli and Easter bread to help raise funds. She was also a member of the USO and a local bridge group.
Rosaria enjoyed cooking and baking with her children and grandchildren and traveling to Maine in the summers. She cherished the time she shared with her family and will be dearly missed by all of them.
Her loving husband of 46 years, Frank B. Donatelli, whom she married April 15, 1947 in the former St. Anthony's Church, Farrell, passed away December 24, 1994.
Surviving are: four sons, Robert Donatelli and his wife Delores, Sharpsville; Joseph Donatelli and his girlfriend Toni Pagley, West Middlesex; Raymond Donatelli, also West Middlesex; and Frank Donatelli and his wife Rose, Charleston, South Carolina; two daughters, Rosaria 'Lala' Chantrill and her husband John, Auburn, Maine; and Anna Marie Vasconi and her husband John, with whom she made her home in Hermitage; fourteen grandchildren, Robert Donatelli, Amanda Palko and her husband Ed; Jeffrey Donatelli and his wife Melissa; Michael Donatelli and his wife Patti; Raymond Donatelli and his wife Courtney; Nicola Donatelli and his wife Nicole; Tony Donatelli and his wife Rachel; Rena Donatelli; Jennifer and Nathan Chantrill; Marissa (Vasconi) Longnecker and her husband Dr. Nick Longnecker; Lauren Vasconi; Monica (Donatelli) Long and her husband Patrick; and Matthew Donatelli; fourteen great grandchildren and one expected in June.
Rosaria also leaves a sister, Verna Picciotto, Farrell; a brother, Nicholas Galarde and his wife Pat, Florida; a sister-in-law, Betty Donatelli, Hermitage; her aunt, Josephine Caruso, Farrell; several nieces and nephews; and her precious dog, Lucie.
