Obituary

A funeral service will be held Saturday for Rosaline Marie Gagich, Sharon. She went home to be with the Lord at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday (6- 28-11) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 86 years old.

Mrs. Gagich was born Jan. 5, 1925, to Lawrence and Jenny Palanti Necaster.

A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1943. Rosaline was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage, where she belonged to the Circle of Serbian Sisters and served the church for many years as one of their caterers.

Rosaline married her husband, Michael Gagich, on Feb. 15, 1947. They were very happily married for 64 years. They have a daughter, Jeanne Glavey of Sharpsville. She was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Rosaline was a very special person who touched the lives and hearts of many people and had a special way about her of always seeing the good in people. She enjoyed life to the fullest, being close to family and attending many family get-togethers as well as her grandchildren's concerts and athletic events. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She was always a woman of strong faith and loved the Lord. She loved music and had a beautiful voice.

As a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon, she and her sister sang with the choir for 27 years.

Mrs. Gagich will be greatly missed by: her husband, Michael Gagich, who survives at home in Sharon; her daughter, Jeanne Glavey and her husband Richard; her two grandsons, David McLaren and his wife Lori; and Brett Glavey, all Sharpsville; her great-grandchildren, Cailin, Evan, Jon, Michael and David Jacob; a sister, Antoinette Revale and her husband Simon, Sharon; a brother, Larry Necaster, also known as Brother Nathaniel OFM (Order of Friars Minor), Boston; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gagich was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Joseph Gagich; and a niece, Joanne Hoak.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 65 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, PA 16148; or American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (7-1-11) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, with a Pomen service at 8:45 p.m.

Service: Funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday (7-2-11) in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Milovan Z. Katanic, pastor officiating. A brief prayer service will take place at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home prior to processing to the church.

Interment: St. John's Orthodox Cemetery, Morefield Road at North Hermitage Road, Hermitage.
