Rosalie A. Cornman, of Hermitage, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, in her residence after a brief illness. She was 73. Mrs. Cornman was born July 27, 1941, in Clarion, a daughter of John and Helen (Cursan) Zentz. She moved to the area as a young girl and was a 1959 graduate of Hickory High School. Rosalie retired in 2013 from the Hermitage School District, where she was a teacher's aide for nearly 20 years in the Artman Elementary School building. She was a member, for 25 years, of the Early Risers bowling league at Sharpsville Bowling Center. Family was always very important to Rosalie. She also enjoyed cooking, working outdoors and summers at her camp in Tionesta. Her husband of 35 years, Chester M. Cornman, passed away April 4, 2011. Surviving are four daughters, Deborah "Debbie" J. Harrington, Marta A. Gill, and Diane E. Darby and her husband Bob, all Hermitage; and Wendy S. Cerny and her husband John, Warren, Ohio; a son, Cecil G. Gill and his wife Barbara, also Hermitage; and four grandchildren, Hollie and Ross Harrington, Cody Gill and Bob Darby. She also leaves two sisters, Connie Titus and her husband Jack, and Sandy Cunningham, all Hermitage; a brother- and sister- in-law, Thomas and Susan Cornman, Sharon; and several nephews. Besides her husband, Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
