Obituary

Ronald J. Stankovich, 79, of Hermitage, passed away Friday evening, May 17, 2019, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Stankovich was born February 28, 1940, in Sharon, a son of the late Lucien and Marie (Frank) Stankovich. He was a 1958 graduate and a football letterman at Sharon High School.

Ronald was employed as a system analyst for Packard Electric Corp. and General Motors in Lordstown, OH, and retired from E.D.S. (Electronic Data Systems) in Warren, OH, with over 30 years of service.

Ronald was a lifelong member of St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Slovak Home, Farrell.

A gifted musician, he excelled at playing the piano and accordion and was a member of the Sloga Tamburitzans band.

Ronald will forever be known for his smile and contagious laugh. He loved his dogs and family, especially his grandchildren.

His wife, the former Regina A. Winiecki, whom he married September 19, 1959, in St. Adalbert's Church, passed away September 7, 2016.

He is survived by four sons, David Stankovich and his wife Lisa, of Fredonia, Dean Stankovich and his wife Kelly, of Hermitage, Gary Stankovich and his wife Stella, of California, and Shawn Stankovich and his wife Wendy, of Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren; and a brother Edward Stankovich and his wife Kathy, of North Carolina.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (05/22/2019) in St. Adalbert's Church, 1035 Fruit Ave., Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
