Ronald L. McFall, 72, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Edison Manor Nursing Center. Ronald was born Aug. 22, 1942, in New Castle to the late Jerome A. and Jane Critchlow McFall. He was a 1961 graduate of New Castle High School. He married the former Carol A. Brown on Oct. 19, 1963, and she survives him at home. Ronald retired from Youngstown Hard Chrome Inc. in Youngstown, where he worked as a chrome plater and setup man. He attended Northminster Presbyterian Church. Ron loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, who were the love of his life. He enjoyed cutting grass with his wife, Carol, walking his dogs Muffy and Scruffy, and playing with his cats, Oreo and Blacky. Besides his wife, Ron is survived by his daughter, Jodi Vaneman and her husband, Mike, of New Castle; two sons, Ronald D. McFall and Scott C. McFall and his wife, Michelle, all of New Castle; a sister, Beverly L. Fyffe and her husband, Ed, of Volant; and his six grandchildren, Brandon, Josh, Dakota, Katelynn, Mikey and Bryan. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome McFall; and a sister, Deborah Patrick. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Larry Llewellyn.
