Rocky Lane Turpin of Hermitage, formerly of New Port News, VA, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 65.

Mr. Turpin was born December 4, 1951, in New Port News, a son of Robert E. and Addie V Cupp Turpin. He was raised and educated in New Port News, before moving to Hermitage in 2005.

He was a member of Faith Outreach Church, Hampton, VA.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Viola Charlton, whom he married on November 21, 1982; three daughters, Sherri Turpin, Virginia Beach, VA; Tamissa Lee Turpin, Norfolk, VA; and Beth Pryor and her husband Dennis, Hampton, VA; a son, Richard Lee Turpin, New Port News; four grandchildren, Christian Daly, Alexander Daly, Kelly Conner and Wyatt Turpin; two sisters, Joanne Stickles and her husband John, Smithfield, VA; and Barbara Henderson, New Port News; a brother, Kenneth E. Turpin and his wife Carolyn, Gordonsville, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents.
