Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday for Robert M. Witzigman Jr. of Hermitage. He passed away at 3:16 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in his parents' home, with his loving family at his side, after a brief illness. He was 60. Mr. Witzigman was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Sharon, a son of Robert M. and Delores Berlin Witzigman. He was a 1970 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and trained in Florida to become a certified master technician for OMC, Evinrude, Johnson and Volvo outboard motors. Bob was employed by Trade Winds Marina, Deerfield, Ohio, until its closing, then owned and operated Bob's Marine in Sharpsville from 1988 to 1998. He previously worked in the Sarasota, Fla., area and the Florida Keys, namely Marathon. He was a former member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex. Bob loved being on or near the water and enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing. He was a NASCAR fan. His wife, the former Eugenia "Jeannie" B. Caracci, whom he married March 14, 1996, passed away April 7, 1997. Surviving are: his mother and father, Hermitage; two daughters, Bobbie Jean Stefanowicz and her husband David, Greenville; and Arron Jean Witzigman and her fiancé Brent Yankowicz, Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, twins, Rasce and Bryce; and Skylar, Kingston and Justin; a sister, Cherie L. Witzigman, Hermitage; a special niece and nephew, Christy Witzigman and Austin Lauper, both Hermitage; and close friends, Bill Kilgore, Ed Holiga and Nick Leftheris. Besides his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his former wife, Jean Yesko. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 3208 B Wilmington Road, Box 5037, New Castle, PA 16105; or a charity of the donor's choice. Calling hours: None, at Bob's request. Service: Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Friday (5-24-13) in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, with the Rev. Henry C. Andrae, pastor, as celebrant.
