Robert Charles Snyderwine of Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 27, 2019, in his residence. He was 89.
Mr. Snyderwine was born June 28, 1929, in Sharon, a son of the late Charles and Mary "Mae" (Rielly) Snyderwine. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School and Sharon High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Robert was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
He was employed more than 30 years as an awning and tent installer at the former Grimms Inc., in Sharon.
Robert was an avid local high school sports fan, especially his beloved Sharon Tigers. When he was unable to attend an event he was sure to tune into the game on WPIC radio.
He loved to spend time with his friends in the local bowling leagues and looked forward to his annual fall hunting trip. In his younger years he participated with Mr. Hoyle's basketball team at the Buhl Club, Sharon.
His wife of 65 years, the former Norma June Stonebraker, whom he married September 5, 1953, passed away September 17, 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Mary Alice and Karen Snyderwine, both of Sharon, and Diane Snyderwine, of Sharpsville; two sons, Charles Snyderwine and his fiancé Cheryl, of Brookfield, and Robert (Wendy) Snyderwine, who were Robert's caregivers, of Hermitage; two grandchildren, Mike (Nicole) Snyderwine, of Sharon, and April (J.J.) Lipo, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Skylar, Isabelle and Christian Snyderwine; a brother, Ted Snyderwine, of Hermitage; his feline friend, Tiger; and German Sheppard, Bondo.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Ann Doran.
All services are private.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
