Robert J. Slagle, 80, of Pulaski, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, in Jameson Care Center, New Castle.

Mr. Slagle was born January 10, 1937, in Boggs Township, Armstrong County, PA, a son of the late Herbert and Hazel Austin Slagle.

Bob owned and operated, along with his wife Elaine, several Boron and BP service stations in both Lawrence and Mercer Counties.

His wife, the former Elaine VanHorn, whom he married November 24, 1955, passed away October 12, 2011.

He was a member of the New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Robert enjoyed going to car shows and working on old cars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving is his son, Ronald Alan Slagle and his wife, Denise (Stickle), New Castle; brother, Harold "Butch" Slagle, New Castle; and two granddaughters, Ronalyn and Stacey Slagle.

Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by: two sisters; Ruth Eckman, and Muriel P. Hankey; three brothers, Charles R. Herbert C. and Walter R. Slagle.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday ( 7-3-17 ) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday ( 7-3-17 ) in the funeral home, with Elder Judy Riethmiller, of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will take place in King's Chapel Cemetery, New Castle.
