Obituary

Robert C. "Bob" Scheuermann, Sr., 90, formerly of Fisher Hill St., Sharon, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 19, 2018, in Avalon Springs Place, Mercer.

Mr. Scheuermann was born October 22, 1927, in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Otto Scheuermann and Anna Letscher. He attended Sharon schools and enrolled in an apprenticeship program at the former Sharon Transformer Div. of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

In 1945, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during WWII.

Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Westinghouse, Sharon, where he worked as a machinist in the maintenance department until his retirement in 1984, marking 40 years of employment.

Bob was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

He was also a member of the North Sharon Vol. Fire Dept. Bob enjoyed tinkering in his garages and taking morning walks, mostly to walk his dogs and visit with other neighborhood dogs along the way. He loved going to the mountains and having cookouts with his family, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His beloved wife of 59 years, the former Helen E. Trozzo, whom he married April 17, 1952, passed away April 20, 2011.

Surviving are: four sons, Robert C. Scheuermann, Jr., Jefferson Twp., Richard D. Scheuermann, Elizabeth, PA, Keith A. Scheuermann, Hermitage, and William M. (Tammy) Scheuermann, Hermitage; nine grandchildren, Robert Scheuermann, Stephanie Scheuermann and fiancé Derek Snyder, Courtney Abbott, Richie Scheuermann, Carissa (Mark) Pisarcik, Chelsy Scheuermann, Casey Scheuermann, Johnna Scheuermann and fiancé Jordan Rearick, and Aliza Scheuermann; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Scheuermann; and an infant son, Roger Scheuermann.

Bob's family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Springs Place for their kindness and exceptional care.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 660 Fisher Hill St, Sharon, PA 16146; or St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.

Calling hour will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday (10-23-18) in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, 779 Dutch Ln., Hermitage.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
