Obituary

Robert T. "Bob" Reagle, 64, of New Castle passed away surrounded by family early Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024, following a year-long battle with a stage-four glioblastoma.

Mr. Reagle was born June 24, 1959, in Meadville, PA a son of Raymond and Marie (Husted) Reagle. A 1978 graduate of New Castle High School, Bob earned a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and completed his teaching certification through Kent State University.

Bob loved being a "Pap-Pap" more than anything in the world. Bob and Ryker always looked forward to Friday night sleepovers, trips to the corner store, and getting haircuts together. Pap-Pap also loved spoiling his little girl, Cally, and cherished the memories they made while cooking together.

He will fondly be remembered as having the home where everyone gathered; whether for Steeler games in his "Man Cave," playing ping-pong in the garage, or enjoying a beer on the porch. Bob loved his time in the Edward's Golf League on Tuesday evenings, family dinners every Thursday night, vacationing in Siesta Key, swearing at the Steelers, and finally being retired from his job at the Choffin Career and Technical Center in Youngstown, OH, where he was an HVAC instructor and Skills USA coordinator for the past 20 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, the former Nancy Ruffley, whom he married June 19, 1982; his daughter, Romaine Shaffer, and her husband, Josh; his son, Jacob Reagle, and his wife, Rachelle; and two grandchildren, Ryker and Callaway Shaffer, all of New Castle.

Bob is also survived by his mother, Marie Reagle, of New Castle; five brothers, Bill (Paulette) Reagle, of Clifton, VA; Ray (Linda) Reagle, of Murrells Inlet, SC, Dennis Reagle, of Seminole, FL, and Joe (Carol) Reagle and Jim Reagle, both of New Castle; five sisters, Michelle (Jim) Russel, of Cape Elizabeth, ME, JoAnne (Mike) Thompson, Murrells Inlet, SC, Jane (Scott) McCleery, of Fort Wayne, IN, Sue (Chris) Ecola, of Hermitage, PA, and Kate Book, of Fort Wayne, IN, a sister-in-law, Romaine Ruffley, of Struthers, OH; and closest friend who made sure to check on him daily with a donut, Gino Cicconi, of New Castle. Bob also leaves behind over 40 nieces and nephews who affectionately knew him as the "fun uncle" and all his friends whom he treated like family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Reagle; and a brother, Thomas Reagle.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Chad Smith and the entire Neshannock Hillman staff for their unwavering support over the past year, and the entirety of the 2200W wing at Jameson Hospital for their love and kindness towards Bob and the Reagle family during his final days.
