Robert A. Pendel

Robert A. Pendel, 84, of Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday evening, October 5, 2026, in his home.

Mr. Pendel was born on August 13, 1942, in Sharon, a son of the late Marco and Anna (Bralich) Pendel. After attending Farrell High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

Over four years of service, Bob served at Amarillo AFB in Texas and Eglin AFB in Florida, prior to being honorably discharged in May of 1965.

In 2001, he retired from General Motors’ Fort Wayne, IN, and previously worked at GM Lordstown for over 25 years.

Robert was of the Catholic faith and a former member of St. Bartholomew Church.

In addition to spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, Bob also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of leagues at Tam O’ Shanter and Yankee Run for many years.

His beloved wife of 57 years, Darla (Flickinger) Pendel, whom he married on February 12, 1966, preceded him in death on March 2, 2023.

Bob is survived by two sons, Jeff Pendel (Jeri) and Scott Pendel, all of Sharpsville; a brother, Marco Pendel (JoEllen), of Muncie, IN; five grandchildren, Justin (Francesca), Jordan, Jared, Forrest, and Evan (Jenna) Pendel; and four great-grandchildren, Cache, Jett, Maizee, and Elijah Pendel.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kay Pendel; and a brother, Ronald Pendel.
