Robert E. Mahaven, 63, of Union Township died unex-pectedly at his home on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 5, 1947, to John J. and Catherine Rider Mahaven.

Bob was a 1966 graduate of Connelly High School.

He was employed as a driver at State Line Roll-Off Service and later at Whiting Roll-Offs.

Bob was a member of Casimir Pulaski Club and Bessemer Croatian Club. He loved riding his Harley and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his parents, John J. and Catherine Mahaven of Pitts-burgh; one sister, Lynette Crimone and her husband, Ronald, of Pittsburgh; one brother, Jack A. Mahaven and his wife, Darlene, of New Castle; four nieces, Dina, Heather, Stacie and Mimi; a great-niece, Mikayla; a great-nephew, Anthony; and his dog, Clara Belle.

He was preceded in death by a brother Donald R. Mahaven.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St., and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Wm. Slater & Sons funeral home, 301 Virginia Ave., Pittsburgh.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Mark Whitsel. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
