Robert "Bob" Kilbert, 91, of Hermitage passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, in his residence.
Mr. Kilbert was born March 21, 1927, in Sharon, a son of the late George and Elsie (Penfield) Kilbert.
He attended Sharon High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist mate.
Bob was president of the former Kilbert Brother's Plumbing and Heating for 40 years.
He then worked for Plumbers & Steamfitters Association, Local # 47, as a Master Plumber and helped build the Beaver Valley Power Plant, #2.
Following his retirement, he was a prescription deliveryman for Eckert/Rite Aid Drug Stores.
Bob was a member of East Side Church, Sharon.
He was also a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Association and received the honorable 50 Year award.
Years earlier, Bob was a swimming instructor at St. John's pool in Sharon and was a member of the Polar Bear Club.
A master craftsman, he enjoyed making wood furniture and toy games.
His wife, the former Lilyan Mae Phillips, whom he married February 14, 1948, passed away June 12, 2015.
Surviving is a daughter, Donna S. Kilbert, Wadsworth, OH; a son, Donald R. Kilbert, Hermitage; three grandchildren, Jennifer L. (Alexander) Pytlarz, Reston, VA; Christopher (Nikole) Kilbert, St. Albans, WV; and Brian (Wiebke) Kilbert, Midway, PA; three great grandchildren, Renee Hunter and Lakyn and Layna Kilbert; a sister-in-law, Lois Kilbert, Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, George, William "Bill" and Joseph Kilbert.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Regional Medical Center Hospice.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
