Robert J. Kennedy, Sr., 84, of New Castle, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday evening, January 29, 2025.

Mr. Kennedy was born August 31, 1940, in Ellwood City, a son of the late Clarence K. and Madeline L. (Deitrick) Kennedy, and attended Ellwood City Lincoln High School.

Bob retired from Anchor Hocking, Inc., Monaca, PA, where he worked as a glassmaker.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching old westerns on television. Bob never hesitated to lend a hand to friends or family.

His family was truly his pride and joy!

Bob's first wife, Mary Ann (Simmons) Kennedy, preceded him in death in 1987. His second wife, Constance (Stevenson) Kennedy, also preceded him in death on December 19, 2023.

Bob is survived by two children, Robert J. Kennedy, Jr., of New Castle, and Julie Coryea (Dale), of Petersburg, OH; two step-children, Mary Ellen Rodgers, of Boardman, OH, and Christina Wagner, of New Castle; and six sisters, Carolyn Moore (Robert), of New Castle, Karen Ippolito and Linda Moore (Oval), all of Wampum, Kathy Fleckenstein (Jack), of Mercer, Cheryl Kuhn, of Florida, and Brenda Getz (Blair), of Monaca, PA.  Bob is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and two wives, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Kennedy; two sisters, Nancy Grekon and Darlene Burton; and two step-children, Thomas and James McMasters.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday (2-4-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 5 p.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor Darren Abraham, officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Union Cemetery, New Castle.
