Robert K. Harry, 85, of Hermitage passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday evening, May 17, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Harry was born October 7, 1938, in New Castle, a son of the late Kenneth and Martha (Bilger) Harry, and graduated from Union High School in 1956.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Lynn (Rishel) Harry, on March 8, 1958. They have been blessed with 66 years of a wonderful marriage and three beautiful children. Lynn survives at their home in Hermitage.
A journeyman electrician, Bob was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 712 in Beaver, PA, and completed many commercial electrical jobs throughout Western PA, specifically Mercer Co.
He was a longtime member of the former Pulaski United Methodist Church, where he lent his talents in many ways. Bob was also a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason and member of the Mahoning New Castle Lodge 243 where he received his 50-year membership plaque in 2013.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time at their camp located on the Allegheny River near Warren, PA. He was also an accomplished local stock car racer and his love for the sport remained throughout his life. Bob was a voracious reader with a particular affinity for reading Westerns and Native American history.
Bob had a talent for fixing just about anything, which he often shared while helping family, friends, and neighbors throughout his life.
Above all else, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who adored his family.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two daughters, Kellie McCants (Robert), San Tan Valley, AZ, and Paige Turk (Brian), Hermitage; a son, Heath Harry (Dana), Beaver Falls, PA; a brother, Kenneth Harry, Hillsville; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren with a 10th arriving shortly.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelbie Hodil; and a sister, Karen Kelly.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday (5-21-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
A Masonic funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home, followed by a memorial service with Pastor Bill Beck, officiating.
