Robert Michael Gotch

Robert Michael Gotch, 80, of Sharon, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Embassy Healthcare, Hermitage.

Mr. Gotch was born on September 8, 1946, in Sharon, a son of the late George and Mary (Bandzak) Gotch. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Hickory High School in 1964. Following graduation, he honorably served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska.

Upon his discharge, he worked as a welder at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. until its closure. He continued his craft, operating a portable welding business offering custom built utility trailers. He transitioned his work to owning and operating his own lawn care and snow removal company, Sunshine and Company.

Bob appreciated old things, collecting antiques and restoring items. Above all, he loved to be outdoors, working, tending to his garden and flowers. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

He is survived by two children, Lori Mikulas and her husband, John, and Ryan Gotch and his wife, Jessica; four beloved grandchildren, Meg and Jack Mikulas, and Sadie and Olive Gotch; a sister, Audrey Gotch; and a brother, Kenneth Gotch, all of Hermitage.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Larry and Thomas Gotch.
