Robert F. Butler, 75, of Masury passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 19, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Butler was born September 7, 1948, in Wellsboro, PA, a son of the late Francis W. and Margaret Mae (Knapp) Butler.

A steelworker, Robert retired from Wheatland Tube Co. in 2011, following 42 years of employment.

He enjoyed bird watching, working in his garden, and spending time with his beloved cat, Kitty. Above all, Robert adored his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with all of them.

His wife of nearly 58 years, Barbara (Hobel) Butler, whom he married June 18, 1966, survives at their home in Masury.

Robert is also survived by five children, Robert Butler, II (Tina), Brookfield, Albert Butler (Darlene), Burghill, OH, Monica Clawson (James), Andover, OH, Gregory Butler (Renene), Sharon, and Craig Butler (Jackie), Jamestown, PA; two sisters, Kathy Foreman, Transfer, PA and Roxine Garrett, Pulaski, PA; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Livermore and Sandra Butler.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of the Valley – Mercy Health, 979 Tibbetts Wick Rd, Suite A. Girard, Ohio 44420.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday (5-23-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
