Robert J. Burkey, Jr., 61, of New Castle, passed away Friday evening, March 21, 2025, in his home.

Mr. Burkey was born February 22, 1964, in New Castle, PA, a son of the late Robert Burkey, Sr. and Carole E. (Cyrus) Burkey. He was a 1982 graduate of Mohawk Area High School.

Rob served in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1993. After his discharge, he worked as a welder.

He had a passion for hunting and fishing, but most of all, Rob was consumed with joy being around his grandchildren.

Rob is survived by his wife, the former Karen Orsini, whom he married August 8, 2006; a daughter, Kieley N. Burkey, Bath, ME; a bonus daughter, Celeste (Kevin) Price, Union Twp.; a bonus son, Eric (Megan) Kerr, Hillsville; two sisters, Lynn Vantassel and Janet Fish, both of Pulaski; a brother, Jeffrey Burkey; and three grandchildren Damian Price (Sierra Knight), Natalie, and Mason.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Interment: Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg, OH.
