Robert "Bob" G. Bradshaw of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday (11- 26-13) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 79. Mr. Bradshaw was born Oct. 24, 1934, in Greensboro, N.C., a son of James Andrew Bradshaw Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Hayes Bradshaw. He was raised in Durham, N.C., and graduated from Durham High School. He later attended what is now known as Youngstown State University. Robert was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force as a drill instructor and served in Korea after the Korean conflict. Bob, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, worked for a number of local businesses including Wheatland Tube Co., the former Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Sharon, and subsequently retired from General Motors Corp. Lordstown, Ohio, car assembly plant. Along with his wife, he owned and operated the popular Clark House bar and grill from 1969 to 1977. In his retirement years, he worked part-time for J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., Sharon. He was a former member of Clark Volunteer Fire Company. A sports fan, he enjoyed rooting for his Pittsburgh Steelers and his favorite NCAA Basketball teams, the Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren. His wife, the former Joyce Audrey Voytko, whom he married July 2, 1955, survives at home. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly J. Emery and her husband Kirby, Knox, Pa.; and Brian S. Bradshaw and his wife Tracy, Sharon; seven grandchildren, Jaquelyn, Giovanni, Diego, Christian and Annasophia Bradshaw; and Karley and Kenzy Emery. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Judy Bradshaw, and two nieces.
