Robert A. "Bob" Balach, 81, of Hermitage, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Mr. Balach was born on December 30, 1943, in Farrell, a son of the late John and Rose (Yankovich) Balach. He was a 1962 graduate of Farrell High School and earned a bachelor's degree in library science from Edinboro University.

He began working at McDowell Bank's former downtown Sharon location and spent several years at the Keystone Blind Association.

Bob was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage.

An avid bowler, he belonged to many leagues at Sunset Lanes, Farrell, where he served many terms as treasurer. His bowling skills and dedication to the sport earned him an induction to the Mercer County Bowling Hall of Fame in 2019.

Bob also had a passion for reading and extending his historical knowledge. Additionally, he closely followed sports and looked forward to walking throughout his neighborhood.

He is survived by four siblings, Violet Kusich, Hermitage, Nana Bocko, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., William Balach and his wife Linda, Estero, FL, and Yvonne Sylvester and her husband David, Hoschton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn and Mitzi Balach, and Ellen Bozanich; a brother, George "Chips" Balach; two nephews, Gregory and Drew Balach; and three brothers-in-law, George Kusich, Ed Bocko and George Bozanich.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either Keystone Blind Association, 3056 East State St. Hermitage, PA 16148; St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 65 South Keel Ridge Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5150 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
