Rita Patricia Redick, Hermitage, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, following a bout with cancer. She was 76. Mrs. Redick was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Sharon, a daughter of Charles and Irene Reno Rhodes. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1956 graduate of Sharon High School. Rita retired from Hermitage School District after 31 years of loyal service as satellite coordinator for the food service department. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, and its Adoration Group. Rita loved cooking for her family and spending time camping with her family. She enjoyed planting flowers and attending "Silver Sneakers" at the YMCA with her many friends, whom she loved being with. Her sons and grandchildren were the love of her life. Her husband, M.E. "Rusty" Redick, whom she married Jan. 26, 1957, passed away Jan. 1, 2011. Surviving are three sons, Dean Redick and his wife Sharon, Franklin; David Redick and his wife Barbara, Butler; and Daniel Redick and his wife Krista, Jefferson Township; five grandchildren, Deanne Peterson and her husband Joseph; Rachel Wickline and her husband Morgan; Brian Redick and his wife Becca; Rebecca Wise and her husband Brian; and Samantha Jackman and her husband Ryan; a great-grandson, Erik Peterson, and another due in October; and a stepgreat-grandson, Hunter Jackman. She also leaves two brothers, Charles "Bud" Rhodes, Sharon; and Ralph Rhodes and his wife Vicki, Jefferson Township; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, Rita was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Powell and her husband Phil Powell; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Rhodes. "My greatest love was your dad and you three boys. I will always be with you. Remember us with a smile and a laugh. Have happy lives. Love Forever, Mom XXOO."
