Richard W. Yarian, 3886 Morefield Rd., Hermitage; formerly a 45 year resident of Greenfield Rd., Lackawannock Township, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday (11-22-10) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. He was 71.

Mr. Yarian was born August 18, 1939 in Sharon a son of William H. and Marian R. Bortner Yarian. A lifelong area resident he was a 1957 graduate of West Middlesex High School.

Richard retired in 2005 after 40 years in the trucking business and also worked for nearly twenty five years at the family farm.

He was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township. Richard also belonged to the Northwest Truck and Tractor Pullers Association for seventeen years and enjoyed hunting and truck pulling.

Surviving are: a son, Richard W. Yarian, Jr., San Francisco, CA; a daughter, Heather Lipke and her husband Craig and their child Emily, all Sharpsville; and two sisters, Marianne Yarian, Camillus, NY; and Kimberly Van Arsdale and her husband Terry, Liverpool, NY.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother Terry D. Yarian.
