Obituary

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday (2-16-12) for Richard M. Trombacco, Farrell, who passed away peacefully at 2:10 p.m. Monday (2-13-12) in Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh, from complications of a stroke. He was 85.

He was born in Sharon July 12, 1926 the son of Pasquale and Mamie DeCapua Trambacco.

A lifelong area resident, he was a member of Farrell High Schools graduating class of 1944.

Following high school, he served in the United States Army and received the Purple Heart after being wounded during combat in Germany.

He retired from the former Sharon Steel Corporation's Farrell plant. He also co-owned and operated the former Garden Café, Sharpsville, along with his friend and partner Anthony LaCamera.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell.

He enjoyed rooting for his Pittsburgh Pirates, old time cinema movies, and due to his vast memory of many things, his family will remember him as a 'walking almanac'. A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Richard loved his family dearly.

His wife the former Jennie Lorenzo whom he married on July 23, 1949, passed away September 28, 1993.

He is survived by his three daughters, Donna Marmion and her husband Daniel, Sharon, Jamie Goslin, the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, and Mary Ann Goodrich and her husband Edward, Del Mar, CA; six grandchildren, Richard Marmion (Andrea Kleinrock), Andrew Marmion, Thomas Goslin (Elizabeth), Patrick Goslin (Brigid), Jenna Goodrich, and Sarah Goodrich; five great grandchildren, Natalie, Augustus, Nina, Kaley Rose, and Abigail, and his former son in law, Thomas Goslin. He also leaves numerous cousins, several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Nathaniel Marmion, and a brother, Robert Trombacco.

Calling hours: 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (2-15-12) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (2-16-12) in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor as the celebrant. A brief prayer service will take place at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home prior to leaving for the church.

Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
