Obituary

Richard Maurice "Dick" Stigliano, 83, of Hermitage passed away with his family by his side Monday afternoon, December 21, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Stigliano was born January 13, 1937, in Sharpsville, a son of the late Frank and Anna (Takash) Stigliano. A 1955 graduate of Sharpsville High School, he later completed his Registered Pharmacist degree at Ohio Northern University, Ada, OH.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

In 1993, Richard retired as the president of Greenwood Pharmacy and Home Care, Inc.'s corporate office in Sharon. He worked for years at the nine retail pharmacies, mainly at the Hermitage location on East State Street, and eventually the many institutional (nursing home) pharmacies in sales.

Richard was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where he attended mass daily.

He served on the board of directors for Area on Aging, as well as Community Counseling, both in Sharon.

Richard was honored to have been able to donate his former corporate office to The Community Food Warehouse in Sharon, which is still in use today.

Richard was also a member of the Sharon Fishing Club located on Lake Muskoka in Ontario, CA.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. Richard always looked forward to hunting trips in Wyoming and spending time at his camp in Westline, PA, which he affectionately referred to as "his house." He also loved to travel, both nationally and internationally, with his wife and children.

As a pharmacist, Richard mentored many pharmacy students enrolled at Ohio Northern University aspiring to join the profession. He also inspired many family members, three of his four children, a daughter-in-law, Michele, granddaughter Angela, a Goddaughter, Susan, and many more to follow in his footsteps.

His beloved wife, the former Ann Vinski, whom he married October 24, 1959, survives at home in Hermitage.

Richard is also survived by a daughter, Renee Stigliano, Sharpsville; three sons, Dr. Richard Stigliano and his wife Katey, Sharon; Dr. Randall Stigliano, Stuart, FL; and Jerry Stigliano, Hermitage; seven grandchildren, Angela, Dean, Peter and William Stigliano, Ellen and Ginger Gerasimek, and Emma (Jonny) Johnston.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by an infant sister, Anna Stigliano; and two brothers, Bill and Frank Stigliano.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Church of Notre Dame or Community Food Warehouse.
