March 1, 1930 – January 20, 2019
Richard H. Price, of Wheatland, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 20, 2019, in his residence. He was 88.
Mr. Price was born March 1, 1930, in Greenville, a son of the late Raymond M. and Ella M. (Yount) Price.
A lifelong truck driver, Richard was employed by Great Lake Express, Niles, OH, for more than 30 years. He later drove for Branch Trucking, also in Niles, and in recent years continued to drive on a part time basis.
Richard was of the Christian faith.
He loved life and will be remembered for his laugh, great sense of humor, and the unwavering love he had for his family. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed supporting them at their many sporting events and school activities. An avid outdoorsman and lifelong hunter, Richard especially treasured spending time at his camp in Marienville, PA. He also enjoyed bowling and for many years participated in several leagues all throughout the Shenango Valley.
Richard was a member of AARP and the Teamsters, Local 377, Youngstown, OH.
His wife, the former Dorothy J. Ewing, whom he married February 26, 1949, passed away in 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Leisa Ulasz, Hermitage, and Ella (James) Johnson, Farrell; two sons, Raymond (Lori) Price, Brookfield, and William (Christine) Price, Akron, OH; a sister, Joan (Alan) Anderson, Youngstown, OH; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; a son-in-law, Walter Ulasz; a daughter-in-law; Kathleen Price; a granddaughter, Amy Davis; and a very special friend, Dorothy Stull.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and kindness provided by Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, and his neighbor, Sheila.
Calling hours will be 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday (1-24-19) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Gill of Eastgate Christian Church, Sharpsville, officiating.
Interment: America's Cemetery, Hermitage.
