Richard Dudley Masian, a 35 year resident of 163 Stoneboro Rd., Stoneboro, PA died peacefully at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday (3-10-10) in his home with his family by his bedside. He was 64.
Mr. Masian was born August 16, 1945 in Sharon a son of the late Stanley and Eleanor Prymkalsky Masian.
He was a 1963 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, PA and received his bachelor's degree in biology from Youngstown State University in 1969. Mr. Masian was a counselor and earned his masters degree in counseling from Slippery Rock University in 1982; and a master's degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Mercer, PA. He was also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the National Rifleman's Association (NRA), the Polish National Alliance and the Tuesday Night Golf League at Pine Grove Golf Course. Mr. Masian enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, gardening and woodworking.
Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Connie L. Walsh, whom he married October 4, 1975 in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon; a daughter, Nicole M. Masian, M.D., West Haven, CT; two sons, Michael D. Masian and Richard J. Masian, both Stoneboro; and a brother, Ronald Masian and his wife Patricia, Niles, Ohio.
Calling hours will be from 2-5 Sunday (3-14-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday (3-15-10) in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Mercer, with the Rev. James Kennelley, pastor, as celebrant.
Those attending are invited to join the family for a meal in the lower level of the church following the service.
