Obituary

Richard O. Lisovitch, 93, a longtime resident of Brookfield, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2025.


Mr. Lisovitch was born May 10, 1932, in Sharon, a son of the late Frank and Clara (Lapschansky) Lisovitch. He was a 1950 graduate of Farrell High School and completed his First Class (FCC) Commercial Electrician License at DeVry Technical Institute.


For 27 years, Richard worked as an electrician at the former Sharon Transformer Div. of Westinghouse Electric Corp, retiring in 1985. He then worked in the same capacity for North Star Steel, Youngstown, OH, and later Castle Builders Supply until the age of 80. Additionally, Richard worked part-time as a radio engineer for WKST and WFAR until 1979.


Richard was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Vienna, OH.


He enlisted his talents as an electrician and builder to build two beautiful homes for his family. Richard enjoyed riding his bike and was also an avid vegetable gardener who took great pride in his tomatoes.


His beloved wife of 69 years, Margaret Ann (Belus) Lisovitch, whom he married on September 19, 1953, preceded him in death on March 22, 2023.


Richard is survived by four children, David Lisovitch, Cleveland, OH, Mark Lisovitch (Mary), New Middletown, OH, Kathy Carna (Jim), New Castle, PA, and Jeannie Charles, Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by two children, Francis Lisovitch and Joan Susany; a brother, Francis Lisovitch; and a sister, Mary Louise Weiser.

In keeping with his wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Vienna, OH.


Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
