Obituary
Richard J. Falen, 78, of New Wilmington, formerly of Riverside Apartments, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mr. Falen was born May 21, 1938, in Ellwood City, a son of the late Robert and Emma Porter Falen. Rich was raised in Elwood and attended Lincoln High School.
As a young man he worked at several shops in both Ellwood City and New Castle. Later Rich was employed by Rockwell International Axel Division, New Castle, retiring after 20 years of service. He was of the Lutheran faith. Rich enjoyed spending his time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Beverly Collins, whom he married July 7, 1991; two sons, Richard J. Falen, Jr., and his wife Jeanne, Las Vegas, NV; and Mark Falen and his wife Dana, Casper, WY; a daughter, Robby Lynn Geary, Boise, ID. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by nine brothers; and one sister.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday ( 12-31-16 ) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday in the funeral home, Rev. Richard C. Nero, Chaplin of Southern Care Hospice, officiating.
