Richard E. “Dick” Cameron, 90, of Masury, OH, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 11, 2026, in his home.

Mr. Cameron was born March 2, 1936, in Sharon, a son of the late Lawrey Ellsworth and Edna (Richards) Cameron, and attended Vernon High School, Burghill, OH.

For 45 years, Dick worked as an electrician at Sawhill Tubular, Sharon, retiring in 2001. Following retirement, he worked part-time alongside his son, Rich, at ColorMatrix, Inc., in Cleveland, OH.

Dick was a member of Sharon Methodist Church.

An exceptional sportsman and hunter, he looked forward to Elk and Mule Deer hunts in Montana and Whitetail Deer hunts here at home. Dick also traveled the country with his son, Rich, participating in many skeet shooting competitions, most notably setting a world record for a perfect 500X500 in the family event at the World Shoot in Savannah, Georgia, in 1992. He also held the World Title for High Average Leader in the 28 gauge in 1992.

His beloved wife of 70 years, JoAnn (Dillon) Cameron, whom he married on June 30, 1956, survives at home.

Dick is also survived by his son, Rich Cameron (Terry), of Sharon; a daughter, Debbie Bonanno (Emilio Lois, Jr.), of Allamuchy, NJ; two grandchildren, Olivia Bonanno (Amy) and Jacob Bonanno; and two sisters, Nancy Simmons (Dale) and Bonnie Hake.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellsworth “Sonny” and Dean Cameron; and a sister, Beverly Shinosky.
