Mr. Reuben Austin, Jr., 60, of Farrell died Monday morning, January 28, 2019, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family. Reuben was born July 6, 1958, in Sharon, a son of the late Reuben Austin, Sr. and Helen Locke.

He was a 1976 graduate of Farrell High School and was employed by MCAR, Hermitage. He later retired from Penn D.O.T. where he worked as an equipment operator and instructor.

Reuben was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell.

He enjoyed maintaining a nice lawn, fishing, and truck driving. Most importantly, Rueben was a loving and caring husband, dad, and grandad.

Left to cherish his memory are his living wife of 40 years, Mrs. Flora (Miller) Austin, two daughters,  Mrs. Nicole (Antonio) Robinson and Ms. Jasmine Austin; six grandkids,  Nae'Shawn, Sadiya, Masun, Unique, Ramell and Kameron; a sister, Devonna; his brothers, Mr.Keith (Arlene) Austin, and Herbie, Melvin, and Clifford Locke. Also surviving are his adopted sons, Ralph Shingledecker and Wesley Cox; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Reuben was preceded in death by his son Sterling Austin on July 5, 2018; a sister, Viola Cozart.

Calling hour will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday (2-4-19) in Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon New Castle Rd, Farrell, PA.

A home going celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in the church, with Pastor T. James Harrison, officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
