Regina C. Donnelly, 91, of Hermitage, passed away Thursday morning, September 8, 2022, in Millcreek Community Hospital, Erie, PA.
Mrs. Donnelly was born July 19, 1931, in Sharon, the daughter of the late Francis and Carrie (Smith) Eberhardt. She attended the former St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School and was a 1949 graduate of Sharon High School. Throughout her youth, she played basketball for St. Joseph's School and at the Buhl Club, both in Sharon. Later, Regina studied at the Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing and eventually received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
She was employed as a nurse at Sharon General Hospital. In 1969, Regina began her career as a school nurse for the Sharon City School District, retiring in 1997.
Her husband, Charles "Harpo" Donnelly, whom she married on May 9, 1953, passed away on November 10, 1995.
Regina was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and on the Cemetery Committee. She and her husband were also active members of the Mercer County Cursillo Movement.
Regina was also a member of the Mercer County Genealogical Society and served numerous years as the society's president.
An avid knitter, she loved making slippers, dish cloths and afghans. She also enjoyed gardening and reading biographies.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula Milkowski and her husband Francis "Fran," Erie, Diane Eakin and her husband Ray, Hermitage, and Joanne McGarrity, Brookfield, OH; a son, Francis "Fran" Donnelly, Sharon; five grandchildren, Natalie (Derek) Votaw, Carrie and Patrick Milkowski, Melanie (Nate) Holstead, and Benjamin McGarrity; and four great-grandchildren, Vance, Avery and Ivy Votaw, and Sophia Holstead.
In addition to her parents and husband, Regina was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Edward McGarrity; a grandson, Christopher Donnelly; and a great-grandson, Luke Holstead.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Mercer County Genealogical Society, 11 North Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday (09/12/2022) in St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor as celebrant.
Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage.
