Raymond Thomas Nygren, Sr., Hermitage, passed away at Thursday (6/18/2015) at 1:55 p.m. in Grove City Medical Center, Grove City. He was 95. Mr. Nygren was born June 12, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of the late Adolf and Mary O'Connell Nygren. He attended schools in Minneapolis and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Minnesota State University. He was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation as an Electrical Engineer for almost 30 years. He retired in1982. Ray was a decorated WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged and was awarded several medals and citation. Following his discharge, he worked for the Navy as an officer trainer. He was a long time member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. He was a member of the Hickory V.F.W. Post 6166, Hermitage; the Lion's Club, Farrell; the Sharon University Club, Brookfield; the Westinghouse Golf League and the Avalon Country Club, Hermitage. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Sember, whom he married September 29, 1951; two daughters, Marcia Kozuch, Fredericksburg, VA and Kathleen Dudragne and her husband, Phillipe, Gatlanburg, TN; one son, Raymond Nygren, Citrus Heights, CA; two grandchildren, David Dudragne and Frank Kozuch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Nygren and one sister, Kate Nygren. Calling hours: Private Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday (6-24-15) in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage, with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Noble, pastor of Notre Dame Church as celebrant. Military honors will be provided by the Sharon Honor Guard. Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage. Arrangements by the J.
