Raymond A. Baker, Sr. of Sharon passed away at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, in Nugent's CCRC, Hermitage. He was 73.
Mr. Baker was born December 25, 1943, in Sharon, a son of Raymond W. and Mary Rita (O'Neill) Baker. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School and Sharon High School. When Raymond was a boy, he helped at his father's gas station, the former Sunoco at the corner of Elm Ave. and State St., Sharon. He was employed for several years at General Motors Lordstown Plant. He began on the assembly line, then the painting booth and lastly in maintenance.
Raymond was of the Catholic faith and a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon. He enjoyed drinking coffee every morning at McDonalds, water skiing, riding horses, motorcycles and his corvettes.
He is survived by a son, Randall Baker, Orlando, FL; three sisters, Janice L. Baker; Barbara J. Williams, both of Miami, FL; and Laura B. Hrytzay and her husband Lloyd, Key Largo, FL; two grandchildren, Brittany and Brooke Baker; and a close friend, Lori Markle, Sharon.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Raymond A. Baker, Jr.; a sister, Rita "Babe" Baker; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams.
