Ralph Ross, 93, of Greenville, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Friday evening, March 20, 2026, in UPMC Greenville Hospital.

Mr. Ross was born September 29, 1932, in Sharon, a son of the late Ralph A. and Mary (Parsee) Ross. After graduating from Sharon High School in 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served as an Aviation Electronics Technician during the Korean War Era. While working at Westhouse for several years, he enrolled at Youngstown State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education, graduating in 1963. He later completed graduate studies at Slippery Rock and Edinboro Universities.

In 1989, Ralph retired from Weathersfield School District, Mineral Ridge, OH, where he taught high school English for 26 years. While at Weathersfield, he was very involved in the school’s honor society, the National Honor Society, and served as the Media Coordinator and Academic Scholarship Advisor. Ralph was also a member of the National and Ohio Education Associations.

Ralph was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Greenville, and a member of the Greenville Knights of Columbus, Council 1446.

His wife of 60 years, the former Mary Louise McKenna, whom he married June 5, 1954, preceded him in death on October 27, 2014.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Sheirer (Thomas), Hadley, PA, and Mary Roch (Jim), Sharpsville, PA; two sons, Ralph R. Ross (Monica), Greenville, PA, Steven M. Ross (Kim), Conway, PA; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia A. Tuper; two brothers, Joseph R. Ross and Robert R. Ross (Donna).

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed towards UPMC Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Fwy #2, Hermitage, PA 16148; or make an effort to conserve nature by planting a tree in his honor.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (3-24-26) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. 

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (3-25-26), in the funeral home, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, officiating.

Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
